Profile
I’m an architectural researcher and writer exploring the intersections of ecology, memory and human experience. My practice is grounded in architecture and informed by ecofeminist thought and Japanese environmental philosophy. I work across writing, film, architectural research and fieldwork, with my current body of research situated in Miyazaki, Japan.
My practice explores ecological relationships between humans, landscapes, material culture and memory. Grounded in architecture and informed by environmental humanities and ecofeminist thought, I investigate how bodies and communities inhabit, remember and resist the environments that shape them. I work across writing, film, architecture, fieldwork and material practices, with particular interests in landscape, ritual, traditional craft, temporality and impermanence. My current research is situated in Japan, where I reside. Here, I am exploring how Japanese philosophies and material cultures might offer alternative ways of understanding human-environment relationships.
